Basic Course in Vascular Ultrasound, Copenhagen – ESVS Academy
Course Dates: The course is confirmed for January 31 to February 2, 2024. Participants are encouraged to book their travel and accommodation as the course is now confirmed.
Expert Faculty: The course will be led by a team of experts including Kim Kargaard Bredahl, Qasam Ghulam, Lærke Urbak, Jonas Eiberg, Steven Rogers, Carloz Martinez, Jette Bang Støvring, and Rikke Broholm.
Course Objective: The primary goal of this course is to teach participants how to perform basic vascular ultrasound examinations. These include examinations of the abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, peripheral bypasses, basic carotid ultrasound, percutaneous access, deep venous thromboses, and varicose veins. The course aligns with the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology).
Target Audience: The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training, and vascular nurses and technologists. While no prior ultrasound experience is required, basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected.
CME Credits: No CME accreditation is being sought for this course.
Registration and Cancellation Terms: The registration fee is €1000 for ESVS members and €1200 for non-members. The fee includes course material and lunch, but not transport, accommodation, or additional meals. Cancellation policies and refund terms are specified on the course page.
Venue: The course will be held at the Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES).
Additional Information: Participants should be aware that photographs and video recordings may be taken during the course for use by the ESVS. The course also offers suggestions for nearby accommodation.
